Today, petroleum getting harder to find and the rate of oil production In Indonesia continues to decline due to not finding new oil wells, old oil wells production in Indonesia also declining. To overcome the decline in the rate of production needed a system that can increase the rate of production.

Artificial lift is a method to remove hydrocarbons, generally petroleum, from the well to the surface. This usually due to reservoir pressure is not high enough to push oil up to the top or not economic if it flows naturally.

The course will discuss about

  1.  The principles of integrated well production system, including artificial lift wells, consists of productivity of producing formation(s), wellbore configuration and sub-surface artificial lift sub-system, wellhead equipment, flow line, manifold, and separator.
  2. The theory and application of methods in each sub-system of integrated well production system, starting from formation productivity and its future prediction, fluid flow in pipes (tubing and flow line), and fluid flow in chokes. The integrated applications of all the methods are used to determine the optimum well production using the Nodal System Analysis.
  3.  The application of Nodal System Analysis to design continuous gas lift wells by considering gas injection availability, and liquid production allocation for each well, either for single gas lift well or multiple gas lift wells.
  4. The application of Nodal System Analysis to design Sucker Rod Pump Wells by considering existing Pumping Unit or new Pumping Unit and Sucker Rod Pump Load calculation based on Standard API RP11L.
  5.  The application of Nodal System Analysis to design Electric Submersible Pump
  6. The plan of work over schedule in the future based on the changing of well productivity for artificial lift wells (continuous gas lift, sucker rod pump, and electric submersible pump).
